Pastor Nadarkhani imprisoned for 1,000 days
You're one of the 66,000 people whose prayers and emails helped to stop Pastor Yousef Nadarkhani's execution last year. At the end of 2011 we saw a huge international outcry on behalf of this Iranian Christian – sentenced to death for 'apostasy' (leaving Islam ). Now it's summer 2012, and Pastor Nadarkhani still needs your prayers. Sunday 8 July will mark 1,000 days since he was imprisoned. What have the last one thousand days held for you? Have you moved house, got married, bought Olympics tickets ? During all that time, a Christian pastor has been held in jail with the death sentence hanging over him. He urgently needs your prayers. Your prayers are essential right now  It's vital for the Church around the world to raise its united, collective voice in prayer at this time. We're asking you to use the prayer below in your church this Sunday (8 July): Lord, we know that You see the suffering of Your children in Iran, and that You have had Your hand on Pastor Nadarkhani's life since before he was born  . Thank You for the blessing he has been to others, as a leader of his church, and as a husband and father. Thank You for the amazing miracles You have done in the past to set Your children free when they were in prison for their faith in You.  We cry out to You now to release him from jail. Soften the hearts of the Iranian authorities, and set Pastor Nadarkhani free from the death sentence hanging over him. And as he and his family wait for Your miracle, please bless and uphold them, giving them the joy of the Lord for their strength. We ask this in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
